When the phone shows 'initializing network', that most often indicates a problem with the local network, rather than phone configuration. The issue when this displays is definitely not the platform side.
One question - is the 'mute' button also lit up red? If it is, that is an indication that the phone does not have a valid physical connection to the network.
If the mute button is red: please double check the physical connections again, ensuring that the ethernet cable is connected to the 'SW' or 'LAN' port, and not the PC port. If it is connected properly, the cause of the issue needs to be 'chased up the path':
1) Please try a different network cable, if you have one available.
2) If that has no effect, then try connecting the other end of the cable to a different data socket. Perhaps the socket is not patched through to the switch.
3) If that has no effect, then try connecting the other end, at the switch, to a different switch port - perhaps the switch port has failed.
You can also try connecting this phone's cable to another working phone's PC port, as that phone will 'share' its' functional network connection with the non-working phone.
If the mute button is not red: please try the step above: connecting this phone's cable to another working phone's PC port.
