Here is how to set up your voicemail box for the first time:
- First, you may need to know your extension number. In many cases, your phone will have a one-touch 'check voicemail button', this will be a different button on each phone model.
- Dial your extension number. If you are extension 101, then dial '101'.
- The system will only ask you for your password. Check with your system admin for the default password.
- The system will help you set up your voicemail box, if this is the first time you've used it.
To check voicemail, you can:
- Dial your extension from your own phone, as outlined above.
- Or, you can dial *97 from any phone on the system. The system will first prompt you for your voicemail box number.
- Follow the prompts to check and manage your voicemail box.
- You can log in to the portal at https://portal.cloudpbx.ca to manage your voicemail box via any web browser. Just ask your admin for your login information. If you haven't logged in before, you only need your username and account name. Just click on the 'forgot my password' link once you have this information, and a new password will be set up for you.
- Of course, your messages are also emailed to you. To hear the voice message that is emailed to you - it is sent as an mp3 attachment - you may be able to play the message right in your email client, or you may need to save the attached file to your computer first, and play it from there. Many smartphones will allow you to play the attachment right in the email message, without using another application.
- Remember that, unless you have the system set to delete voicemail messages when it emails them to you, then you will still need to check in from the phone or the web to clear it out once in awhile. You can save a maximum of 100 messages.
